BOOK PROJECT

The project is based on a book as object through history of painting. By observing historical paintings I found something interesting and odd about the way “book holders” were posing with books. I also started to observe a relation between book and a body and started to examine the role of a book in painting iconography. The significance of this object was to express social status of a person, profession, education, religious affiliation, fashion accessorize etc. The project was carried out as series of contemporary photographic stagings of well known examples from art history.
